Turkey's Antalya receives nearly 20,000 foreign tourists in a week

Turkey and Russia announced earlier, the resumption of flights between them from August 1, after being suspended in March as part of anti-Corona measures

Following the resumption of flights between the two countries, Turkey has become the "safe tourism address" for Russian visitors.

After a nearly five-month hiatus, the first Russian tourist convoys arrived in Turkish tourist centers, primarily Antalya, the country's tourism capital.

The first plane carrying Russian tourists landed in Antalya at dawn on Monday, and other convoys are scheduled to arrive during the day in Mugla state and the cities of Bodrum and Dalaman, Turkey's most prominent tourist destination.

Russian tourists have been transported from the airport to the hotels and resorts where they will be staying, while taking into account the maximum prevention of the CORONA virus.

The Russian tourist, Aleksandr Truschlayakova, longs for Turkey and its tourist capital, Antalya.

Anna Charabakova said that as soon as flights between Russia and Turkey resumed, she and her colleagues began to buy a holiday ticket in Antalya.

Tatiana Korniova expressed confidence in a pleasant and safe holiday with her family in Antalya.

Turkey and Russia had earlier announced the resumption of flights between them from August 1, after being suspended in March as part of measures to combat the Corona epidemic.

Last year, Turkey ranked first among the world's most visited countries by Russian tourists, receiving 7 million Russian tourists.

The president of the Association of Professional Hotel Managers in Turkey, Olkai Atmajda, said that the arrival of foreign tourists in Antalya began with citizens of Kazakhstan, Ukraine and Belarus on August 1.

He added that the first week of this month saw the arrival of more than 10,000 Ukrainian tourists in Antalya.

Tskhlar Bardaqji, general manager of a luxury hotel in the state, said they have not yet complained about measures taken at their tourist facilities about the prevention of corona.

He noted the tourists' gratitude for the measures taken, indicating that they continued to accept hotel reservations.
