The Butterfly Valley was previously called the GUDURUMSU name but it was named "Butterfly Valley" afterwards because of many swarms of butterflies living near the waterfalls.
The Butterfly Valley is one of the best places to spend the weekend in Turkey, embracing a magical sea with a clear and clean beach.
The Butterfly Valley, one of the most beautiful places in the Fethiye area, which features its white beaches, tranquil sea and picturesque nature, is one of the best places to spend the holidays away from the hustle and bustle of the cities.
Tourists in the Butterfly Valley usually spend one day or a few days, as the basic accommodations there are wooden huts, which may not have electricity, providing a rare opportunity to live in an atmosphere full of charming nature, and away from technology, all that can be done here is rest and relaxation, and enjoy the magnificent sights surrounding you.

Protection of the butterflies of the valley:

The Turkish government has considered the Valley a natural reserve since 1987 to protect the local butterflies and flowers there, a measure that led to the protection of the valley from the fate of the nearby Uldeniz (or Blue Lagoon) resort, a famous seaside resort five kilometers north, which is teeming with tourists from all walks of and towards.
The Oldeniz resort was not known until the travelers began to stay in their tents near the 1980s. Today, it has become an example of the Lost Committee, and it is self-evident. The city is full of sparkling neon lights, English-style restaurants, and the sea is filled with pirate-like ships and ships that have turned into drinking bars.

In return, the tourism Development Authority of Turkey purchased the "Butterfly Valley" from Varalia villages in 1981 and inaugurated it for tourism in 1984 three years later, when the government declared the Butterfly Valley a natural reserve, the authority banned the establishment of permanent buildings on its territory.
Today, only tents and huts that can be removed are allowed, and local authorities have focused on the development of normal life in the region in exchange for commercial gains. And grows here olive trees, lemon, pomegranate, orange, grape, and chestnut
