Recently, the Turkish Ministry of Environment and Urbanization issued the executive regulations on the law granting Turkish citizenship, and the new law included significant amendments to obtain Turkish citizenship, including the granting of Turkish citizenship in exchange for the purchase of a property worth $250,000, up from $1 million in the previous decision.
The following are the most important questions discussed regarding the acquisition of Turkish citizenship, and their precise answers based on the Turkish Citizenship Act and its executive regulations published on 15 October 2018.
 
Q1: Can I get Turkish citizenship?
Yes, a foreigner can obtain Turkish citizenship in several ways, including buying a property in Turkey, provided that the purchase of the property is after 12 January 2017.

Q2: How much is the minimum amount of the property to be purchased to obtain Turkish citizenship?
The property purchased between 12/01/2017 and 18/09/2018 must be worth at least US$1 million.
The property purchased on 19/09/2018 and beyond must be worth at least $250,000.

Q3: How is the price of a property purchased to apply for Turkish citizenship assessed?
The property value assessment report must be obtained, certified by assessment institutions accredited by the Turkish government.

Q4: How long is it acceptable for the preparation of the property evaluation report?
The property evaluation report must not exceed a maximum of 3 months from the date of application, and the report is valid until the completion of the process of applying for Turkish citizenship.

Q5: Can I register the value of the property at Tabu at a lower price than its real tax relief price?

Q21: After I have obtained Turkish citizenship in exchange for a real estate investment, will I be called up for compulsory military service in Turkey?
If you obtain Turkish citizenship after the age of 22, you will be exempted from military service in Turkey.

Q22: If I get Turkish citizenship in exchange for buying a property, how can my children over the age of 18 get Turkish citizenship with me?
